0–1 design of a self-service Power BI reporting tool for 15+ internal roles to access real-time test development data. Reduced the need for specialist requests for custom reports and Excel manipulation.
Overview
ETS offers a range of products for educational assessment and prides itself on the development of test items that exceed academic standards to improve equitable outcomes for learners. The test assembly workflow is rigorous and depends upon meticulous tracking and communication.
Previously, those working on various parts of the test (from items to graphics to the complete test package) needed to work with a specialist to request reports to track data, ensuring a smooth process. Our team created a Power BI dashboard, templates, and canned reports that experts could use to access data in a flash, reducing time to data from 1-2 weeks to seconds.
